Wellbeing Think Tank (WTT) is excited to offer three distinct volunteer opportunities to help advance our mission of creating healthier, thriving workplaces. Whether you have years of experience in the field, a passion for workplace wellbeing, or a desire to contribute to a cause you believe in, we invite you to get involved. Our volunteer roles offer flexible, impactful ways to contribute your skills, expand your network, and make a meaningful difference in workplace cultures. Our goal is to have a diverse group of volunteers that represents our growing community.

Community Volunteers

Overview:

Wellbeing Think Tank (WTT) is looking for engaged and passionate volunteers to support our mission of advancing workplace wellbeing. Community Volunteers play an important role in amplifying WTT’s impact through event support, content creation, and outreach. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while connecting with other professionals who are passionate about creating workplaces where everyone can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotions & Outreach – Help spread the word about WTT events through social media, email, and professional networks.

  • Content Creation & Editing - Assist with sourcing resources for our community and editing digital content. 

  • Event Recap Writers – Summarize key takeaways from WTT events for blogs, newsletters, and social media to extend the learning beyond the live sessions.

  • Events Assistant/Breakout Room Hosts (WTT Connected) – Assist event hosts with digital events. Facilitate small-group discussions, encourage participation, and ensure an inclusive, engaging experience for attendees.

Ideal Candidates:
We welcome volunteers who are:

  • Passionate about workplace wellbeing and community engagement

  • Comfortable engaging with others in virtual settings

  • Strong communicators (written or verbal)

  • Organized and reliable, with a collaborative mindset

  • Align with our mission, vision and values

  • Familiarity with our events is appreciated, but not required

Commitment & Expectations:

  • Term Length: Open, with opportunities to support multiple events

  • Meetings: Bi-Annual Volunteer Meeting 

  • Time Commitment: Approximately 1 - 2 hours per month

Subject Matter Expert (SME) Advisors:

Overview:

Wellbeing Think Tank (WTT) is seeking Subject Matter Expert (SME) Advisors to provide guidance, insights, and expertise in workplace health and wellbeing. SME Advisors play a key role in shaping WTT’s content, ensuring it remains evidence-based, innovative, and impactful. This is a volunteer, non-governing role designed for professionals passionate about improving workplace wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert insights on trends, best practices, and emerging research in workplace wellbeing.

  • Offer input on event programming, speaker selection, and educational content.

  • Serve as a resource for WTT’s community by contributing to educational resources. 

  • Act as ambassadors for WTT, fostering connections and partnerships.

  • Participate in meetings and actively support our mission and vision. 

Ideal Candidates:
We are looking for professionals with focused expertise in areas such as:

  • Workplace wellbeing 

  • Mental health

  • Physical health and wellness

  • Financial wellbeing

  • Social wellness 

  • Organizational culture and leadership

  • Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB)

  • Total rewards, benefits, and workplace policies

  • Occupational health, ergonomics, and safety

  • Learning and development and manager training

  • Community and Public Health

  • Emerging Professionals (Students or individuals in the early stages of their workplace wellbeing career) 

SME Advisors must have relevant and appropriate education and/or credentials, applied or research experience and ideally 8+ years of professional experience except for emerging professionals. 

Commitment & Expectations:

  • Term Length: One year, renewable 

  • Meetings: Bi-Annual Planning Meeting + subcommittee meetings (no more than quarterly)

  • Programs: Attend our Annual Summit and events that align with your subcommittee. Our goal is 100% attendance during the Summit Opening & Keynote and 75% of events that are associated with your subcommittee. 

  • Time Commitment: Approximately 1 - 4 hours per month

Board of Directors 

Overview:
Wellbeing Think Tank (WTT) is seeking dedicated leaders to join our Board of Directors and help shape the future of workplace wellbeing. As a governing body, the Board provides strategic oversight, ensures financial sustainability, and supports WTT’s mission to educate, inspire, and drive action for healthier workplace cultures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance and governance to support WTT’s mission and vision.

  • Oversee financial stewardship, fundraising, and resource development.

  • Offer expertise and insight on workplace wellbeing, nonprofit management, or related fields.

  • Act as ambassadors for WTT, fostering connections and partnerships.

  • Participate in meetings and actively support our mission and vision. 

Ideal Candidates:
We welcome professionals from all backgrounds, and especially those with experience in:

  • Workplace health, wellbeing, DEIB, or organizational culture

  • Nonprofit leadership, governance, or financial management

  • Fundraising, sponsorship development, or community engagement

  • Legal, policy, or compliance expertise

Prior board experience is a plus but not required. We value diversity in perspectives, backgrounds, and industries and aim to build a Board that reflects our growing community. 

Commitment & Expectations:

  • Term Length: Two years, renewable

  • Meetings: Quarterly virtual board meetings + annual strategic planning session

  • Programs: Attend our Annual Summit - Our goal is 100% Board attendance during the Opening & Keynote 

  • Time Commitment: Approximately 4-8 hours per month

  • Financial Contribution: Board members are encouraged to contribute or help secure funding to support WTT’s sustainability.

Roles:

Vice Chair 

  • Supports the Chair and steps in when they are unavailable.

  • May lead specific initiatives or committees.

Secretary

  • Maintains official board records, including meeting minutes and bylaws.

  • Ensures compliance with nonprofit governance policies.

  • Distributes meeting materials and schedules board meetings.

Treasurer

  • Oversees financial health, budget, and financial reporting.

  • Works with the CEO to ensure sound financial practices.

  • Provides financial updates to the board and advises on fiscal planning.

Governance Chair – Oversees board structure, recruiting, and bylaws.

Development Chair – Oversees fundraising and sponsorship efforts.

Programs Chair – Ensures alignment of events, initiatives, and mission.

Marketing & Communications Chair – Supports outreach and brand visibility.

FAQ’s

  • Please note that all positions are volunteer roles and are unpaid

  • Actively serving volunteers will be recognized in our annual Impact Report and on our website

  • We are happy to provide any formal documentation for volunteer hours

  • Volunteers may receive discounts or complimentary admission to fee-based events 

  • Board Members and Community Volunteers do not need to meet any specific education or credentialing requirements. We welcome any volunteers with a passion for workplace wellbeing in these roles.
